Tips

  1. What type of wash soap should I use, is dish soap fine?

    • Today’s paints are very sensitive to acidic washes like dish soap. Your best bet is a ph balanced car wash. Dish soap can cause major problems especially to the rubber and trim.

  2. How often should I wax my vehicle?

    • For over the counter waxes and application, probably two to three times a year in our environment. Proper prep and upgraded coatings will extend the time between waxes considerably. Environmental and frequent automatic car washes will shorten the life of any coating.

  3. What’s the point of waxing my vehicle?

    • Today’s clear coats, due to environmental concerns, lack the chemicals needed to make clear coats durabe and are very susceptible to tree sap, bird droppings, bugs and tar, as well as other industrial fallout. The waxes prevent these hazards from sticking to the vehicle, decreasing their impact on the paint. Keeping a good coat of wax on your car, will also make washing your vehicle easier.

  4. What is clay bar?

    • Many remember as a kid taking silly putty and lifting comics off of the comic strips on the Sunday paper. Clay bar works much the same way. It’s a lifting medium allowing us to safely remove environmental hazards from the paint which allows us to apply waxes and coatings to a clean surface, therefore extending the life of the coating and giving it a better shine.
